The Journey of Caregiving: Planning Ahead with Confidence and Clarity
Tuesday, March 31st at 11 am (Akhoury Room)
This educational library presentation explores the full journey of caregiving, from understanding the emotional, financial, and practical realities families face, to learning how to prepare thoughtfully and proactively before a crisis occurs. Steven will outline the broader caregiving landscape, including the growing need for care, financial considerations, and the importance of early planning. Building on that foundation, Kristen will discuss how seniors can take empowered steps today to start the planning process early and establish relationships before care is urgently needed. Attendees will learn why planning early reduces stress, protects independence, supports family members, and allows for informed decision-making rather than rushed choices during hospitalization or rehabilitation.
Background:
Kristen Jankowski created OneCare Harmony Home Health Care to help families navigate the challenges of aging and caregiving with trusted support at home. Kristen grew up in Florham Park and has lived in the community for more than 40 years. She understands firsthand the physical, emotional, and mental challenges of caregiving, having personally cared for a loved one herself. Kristen holds both the Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) designation and the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation, bringing a unique perspective to helping families plan for care and make informed decisions.
Steven LaFerriere, CFP® is a Financial Advisor with Merrill in Summit NJ, where he supports families navigating the financial and emotional challenges of aging and caregiving. He frequently partners with estate, tax, and healthcare planning professionals to provide educational seminars that help seniors, caregivers, and their loved ones make informed decisions. Steven’s work is grounded in service, compassion, and clarity, equipping families with guidance and confidence as they move through the journey of eldercare.”

The primary purpose of “Halos for Angels, Inc.” (HFA) is to nurture its community’s “well-being” by extending to its family members temporary relief, comfort, and support when sudden tragedy “hits home.” HFA can help with day-to-day responsibilities by providing transportation services, shopping trips, child care, and daily meals – whatever the need may be until the families are stronger and back on their feet.
All proceeds will directly benefit community families in need due to sudden tragedy.
Taste of Florham Park - Florham Park Rotary
The TASTE OF FLORHAM PARK is the annual festive food extravaganza that benefits the Florham Park Rotary Scholarship Fund. Net proceeds reward Florham Park students who have a record of community volunteerism and who attend any local high school as Seniors. Florham Park’s eating establishments graciously provide samples of their best dishes. Local purveyors of fine wine, beer and spirits greet guests with samples of their offerings, as do other local merchants. The Taste is a must attend party for food and fun lovers. It is a celebration of the best of Florham Park and an opportunity to enjoy the evening with family and friends – and neighbors – at a historic mansion. The Vanderbilt-Twombly Mansion was a home for Florence Vanderbilt Twombly and Hamilton Twombly for decades before becoming the FDU administrative building in 1958.
